INTEGRATIVE CARE
Mental Health Treated as Part of Your Whole Health
At Cedar Psychiatry, integrative care means treating your mental health as inseparable from the rest of your health. Sleep, nutrition, hormones, physical health, and daily habits are assessed alongside medication and psychotherapy, not after them. This approach brings Eastern wisdom together with Western medical practice, with an emphasis on prevention as well as treatment and long-term wellbeing.
HOW WE WORK
The Factors We Assess Alongside Medication
- Sleep and Circadian Rhythm
Sleep is often the first system to break down and one of the most useful to repair. We assess your sleep patterns, timing, and quality as part of every full evaluation, and treat disruption directly rather than waiting for other symptoms to improve.
- Nutrition and Physical Health
Thyroid function, iron, vitamin D, and other medical contributors are considered before symptoms are treated as purely psychiatric. We review nutrition, movement, and physical health with you, and coordinate with your primary care physician when that is useful.
- Medication and Psychotherapy Together
Medication and therapy often work better in combination than either does alone. We provide evidence-based medication management and can coordinate closely with your therapist, or with the care partners in our practice, so that your treatment moves in one direction.
- Prevention and Long-Term Wellbeing
Treatment does not end when the worst of it passes. We look closely at the patterns and pressures that make relapse more likely, and we build a plan that you can realistically sustain, so that stability holds through the ordinary demands of daily life.
