Cedar Psychiatry

Our Cedar Story

Our mark begins with the Tree of Life, a motif found in traditional Persian kilims that stands for growth, continuity, and the connection between earth and the divine. It sits inside an arch, a shape that has long signified refuge and protection. Together they describe what we set out to build: a practice rooted in culture, where the person is understood well before the diagnosis is made.

About Dr. Setare Eslami

Dr. Setare Eslami is a board-certified adult psychiatrist and the founder of Cedar Psychiatry. She completed her adult psychiatry residency at Kaweah Health and serves as Chair of Women’s Mental Health at the Central California Psychiatric Society. Her practice centers on quality-of-life and reproductive psychiatry, and she sees patients in both English and Farsi.

Her approach is grounded in evidence-based medication management combined with psychotherapy, with equal attention to prevention through sleep, nutrition, physical health, and daily habits. She works from the belief that people carry a real reserve of wisdom and courage within them, and that the role of a psychiatrist is to help you find your way back to it during the difficult stretches of the journey.

Our Mission

To offer compassionate, culturally informed, and holistic psychiatric care that honors the whole person, and to help individuals and communities move past symptom management toward healing, growth, and lives that feel meaningful.

Our Vision

A world where mental health care is deeply human, accessible, and holistic, and where every person feels seen, understood, and able to thrive.

Every element in our mark carries meaning. The Tree of Life comes from traditional Persian kilims, where it stands for growth, continuity, and the connection between earth and the divine. The arch around it creates a protective enclosure, a sign of refuge and human-centered space. Together with the cedar leaf, the pill, the person, and the roots, the mark holds the whole of what we do: culture, medicine, and the person at the center of both.
